Frequently
Asked Questions
What
days are the games played?
Recreation
League games are played on Saturday morning/afternoon in the
Fall and Sunday afternoon in Spring.
Travel
games: Girls games are on Saturday afternoons for U8-U14 and
Sunday for U15+.
Boys games are on Sunday afternoons.
What
times are the games played?
For
the recreation program: it is impossible to know the exact time
of the games prior to the week previous to the start of the
season. This is due to the uncertainties of the number of teams,
scheduling conflicts of coaches with multiple teams, and available
fields and equipment.
For
the travel program: the game times are determined by the travel
league in which the team is playing not by Cherry Hill FC -
game start times are generally anytime from 12:30-3:30.
Where
are games played?
For
the recreation program: Fall season games are played at the
DeCou fields (Cropwell/Evesham Rd). Spring season games are
played at DeCou with the exception of our U11-U14 Boys games
which are played at Beck Middle School (Cropwell Rd)
For
the travel program: Half of your games will be played at home.
Home games are played at either DeCou or Beck depending on the
fields schedule.
When
and where do teams practice?
For
the recreation program: practice sessions are at the discretion
of our volunteer coaches. Based on your age group, practices
may be one or two times a week. We encourage recreation teams
to practice on our DeCou rec fields. In addition, our club has
leases at many of the local schools for teams to practice.
For
the travel program: practice sessions are at the discretion
of our volunteer coaches. The coach will decide the number of
practices per week. Coaches request practice time on our scheduled
fields (DeCou Turf and Johnson). In addition, our club has leases
at many of the local schools for travel teams to practice.
When
are the registrations held?
Registration
for the Fall season begins in April and registration for the
Spring season begins in late November/early December. Registrations
are accepted via our online registration system at www.cherryhillfcsoccer.com.
What
if I'm not comfortable registering online?
Mail-in
forms are available via our website. Please read the directions
and fill out the form carefully. Return the form with your remittance
to the address given on the top of the form.
Can my player play with their friend
or with their previous coach?
For
the recreation program: there is a field on the registration
form to make such a request. However, we cannot guarantee
that requests can be fulfilled due to coach availability, team
capacity and team balance.
For
the travel program: tryouts are held in late Spring to determine
the following season's travel teams. Players are placed based
on the tryouts.
Do I have to have experience to coach?
You
do not have to have experience to coach. What you do need is
a willingness to learn the game and continuously improve your
coaching ability. We will help by providing licensing courses,
guidance to information sources available through print and
via the internet, and will be happy to help you in any other
way possible. As a volunteer coach you are one of the most important
factors in the success of our recreation program. As you become
more skilled you might find, in later years, a continued interest
in coaching for a travel team.
How
can I join the board?
We
continually search for parents interested in creating the fun
soccer atmosphere that CHFC creates for your young players.
Since we are all volunteers, the more help we have the easier
it is on everyone. The length of your commitment can be decided
before you begin, and your task will be clear. If you are interested,
please contact any Board Member (see Board of Directors page
of this website).
How
can I get a refund?
Refunds
will be provided if the Cherry Hill FC Director of Registration
is notified in writing (preferably email).
